Your invitation

„I have been married to a Gambian man for two years. When I first came to his homeland, this country won my heart: with its warmth, its colours and sunsets that bathe everything in gold."

It's exactly this abundance I'd like to share with you, together with what has carried me for 26 years: Kundalini Yoga and meditation. A week to truly arrive, recharge, shine and discover the great treasure of this practice for yourself.

Your guide

Marion Khalsa Kaur

Teacher of Kundalini Yoga, meditation and mindfulness · Coach for detox and transformation

I guide women back to lightness, to aliveness and to their self-empowerment, to the radiance that arises when you are fully yourself again. For me, spirituality belongs in the middle of life, grounded and undogmatic. Meditation, breathwork and mantras are tools you can draw on for the rest of your life.

Kebba

Master drummer from The Gambia · Djembe

Kebba is pure joy and energy. As a master drummer from The Gambia, his djembe workshops inspire people as far away as Europe. On our retreat he introduces you to the drum and shares the vibrant rhythm of The Gambia with you. He combines his passion with a heartfelt wish to create a better future for everyone in his homeland.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know

Do I need any previous yoga experience?

No. The retreat is open to all women, whether you're just starting out or have been practising for a long time. All you need is the openness to give yourself to the week.

What about meals?

Full board in local style is included in the price, mostly vegetarian and with fish on request. If you have any particular needs, let me know beforehand.

How do I get there, and is a transfer included?

The nearest airport is Banjul (BJL). You book your own flight, which is not included in the price. The airport transfer from Banjul to the accommodation in Sanyang is included, so you'll be picked up.

Can I come as a woman travelling alone?

Yes, you're very welcome. You travel in a community of like-minded women, within a safe, guided setting. Many come alone and soon feel held.

What should I bring?

Light summer clothing, comfortable clothes for practice, swimwear, and sun and mosquito protection. We'll go through everything else you need to prepare in good time before the trip.

What happens if I have to cancel?

If you cancel up to 60 days before the start, I keep only the deposit. Between 59 and 30 days beforehand, 50 per cent is due; between 29 and 14 days, 75 per cent; from 13 days before the start, or if you don't attend, the full price. You can send someone in your place at any time. As the journey is a long one, I recommend travel cancellation insurance. You'll find the full conditions in the terms and conditions.

I look forward to meeting you
